Benidorm, capital del turismo de la Comunidad Valenciana, ya apuntaba este pronóstico desde mediados del siglo pasado.

Pero Benidorm no siempre fue una gran ciudad, y sus orígenes hay que buscarlos en el pequeño pueblo de pescadores que se alzaba sobre un montículo rocoso adentrado ligeramente sobre el mar Mediterráneo.

1 – Templados inviernos y veranos calurosos. La localidad está el centro de una bahía, flanqueada de extensas playas bajas y arenosas. NAVIDADES MÁGICAS EN BENIDORM

La Navidad es una de las épocas favoritas del año para los pequeños de la casa. Se vive un ambiente familiar de ilusión y magia por las festividades y celebraciones que la Navidad trae consigo.

Si pensabas que Benidorm era solo un destino turístico de verano, sol y playa,estás muy equivocado; en Navidad también es el sitio ideal para disfrutar de los regalos, de Papá Noel y de los Reyes Magos..¡sólo falta la nieve! Pero ese no es problema, no tenemos nieve pero si pista de hielo, y está en la plaza de la Navidad (al lado del ayuntamiento) dónde además de patinar también tenéis hinchables y atracciones para los niños. Les encantará saltar sobre las colchonetas, y también ver las actuaciones de los fantásticos personajes en la Plaza de la Navidad.

Pasa unas navidades en familia en Benidorm,  desde las 12 hasta las 14 a saltar en los hinchables para peques en la Plaza de la Navidad, ¡podréis ir cada día hasta el 4 de Enero! Os podéis tomar un descanso a las 12.30 para ver la actuación de los personajes infantiles el Domingo 24, Lunes 25, y desde el  Jueves 28, hasta el Jueves 4; algunos días tendrán otro pase a las 18:30.

En la plaza de SS.MM. Reyes de España te esperará el teatro, si te gustan los piratas, el día 27 de diciembre no te puedes perder el teatro de calle “Los Piratas. The Little history”. El Jueves 28 representarán el clásico “Peter Pan”, en versión teatro musical.

Para los más deportistas Benidorm también ofrece planes, podéis ir calentando, el domingo 31 de diciembre se celebrará la VII San Silvestre, una de las carreras populares más conocidas. El circuito será por la avenida Mediterráneo y el paseo de Levante.

Si los más peques tienen preparada la carta a los Reyes Magos, se la podrán dejar al Cartero Real los días 2, 3 y 4 de Enero en la Plaza de la Navidad de 18 a 20h, ¡además de entretenidos talleres infantiles!

El día más mágico será el 5 de Enero, con la cabalgata de los Reyes Magos. El recorrido comenzará en el Parque de Elche hasta la Plaza de SS.MM. Reyes de España. Sus majestades vendrán desde el lejano Oriente para que todos los niños que estén en Benidorm puedan tener sus regalos debajo del árbol cuando despierten al día siguiente.

UN CAMINO DE MAR Y MONTAÑA POR LA RUTA DE SERRA GELADA

Durante las vacaciones tenemos el privilegio de gozar de todo el tiempo libre que queramos tener. Hay quienes prefieren no salir del resort y aprovechar las vacaciones para descansar y relajarse, y hay quien sin embargo, prefiere aprovechar el tiempo para aventurarse y ver cosas nuevas. Como sabemos que hay gustos para todos los colores, Benidorm ofrece variedad de actividades para todos sus visitantes.

Para los más aventureros y activos proponemos la ruta por Sierra Helada, también conocida como Serra Gelada. Esta sierra es una alineación montañosa costera que separa Benidorm de Altea. Está formada por calizas y margas, y su flanco sureste da al mar formando impresionantes acantilados que le confieren un perfil singular. El conjunto de la sierra está protegido como parque natural y alberga una interesante duna fósil y dos microrreservas de flora.

La ruta de senderismo tiene una dificultad media, así que no os preocupéis, hay gente de mediana edad que también hace el camino de principio a fin, no es necesario ser un atleta para poder cumplir con el recorrido. El tiempo medio para cruzarlo es de 5 horas, así que hay que ir preparado con agua y algo de comida, pues si salís por la mañana seguramente se os haga la hora de comer a mitad de camino. La distancia a recorrer es de 11’9 km de un extremo a otro, con un desnivel de 825 m.

Ya preparados con unas buenas deportivas, mochila con agua y comida, y mucha energía a nuestras espaldas, ¡comenzamos! Iniciamos la ruta con la subida a la Cruz de Benidorm por la calle Berlín. Vamos dejando a nuestras espaldas los rascacielos y la arquitectura metropolitana de la ciudad. Es un camino asfaltado de subida que no tiene pérdida.

Llegamos a la Cruz y aquí se inicia el sendero, que está marcado con señales de pintura. Caminaremos por el cordal de la sierra, cerca del borde del acantilado y con terrenos de subidas y bajadas, y de gran belleza paisajística. Es una ruta de senderismo que también podemos hacer con niños, siempre con cuidado, e incluso con mascotas. Si vamos con perros, disfrutarán tanto o más que nosotros de recorrer todo este terreno. Lo que no es recomendable es hacerlo durante los días de intensa calor, pues a lo largo del camino las zonas con sombras escasean al ser de camino abierto. Recorrer la Serra Gelada es un plan perfecto para una mañana de primavera, otoño e incluso de invierno.  El sendero desde la cruz acaba en una pista asfaltada antes de llegar a las antenas, situadas en la parte alta de la sierra, a 435 metros del nivel del mar. Desde aquí podemos ver el Puig Campana, la sierra de Bernia y el Peñón de Ifach.

Una vez en las antenas, guiamos nuestra ruta al Faro del Albir. Podemos escoger dos caminos, seguir la pista asfaltada que baja hasta el aparcamiento del Faro, o continuar con el sendero natural de la sierra y seguir contemplando los paisajes de la Costablanca. Este segundo, se encuentra a la izquierda de la explanada de las antenas. Es un terreno más rocoso y descompuesto, donde veremos la flora típica de la zona. Continuando por el cordal de la sierra llegaremos al faro.

En el Faro del Albir podemos hacer una pequeña pausa para contemplar el paisaje marítimo que tenemos a un lado, y el paisaje montañoso que tenemos en el opuesto. Aquí podemos tomarnos un respiro, el camino es cuesta abajo y nuestras piernas nos lo agradecerán. Aquí el sendero a seguir está asfaltado y es fácil de recorrer, con un nivel bajo de dificultad. Hay quienes no disponen del tiempo o del estado físico adecuado para recorrer toda la ruta de senderismo de Benidorm a la Serra Gelada y se animan a hacer solo la ruta desde el Albir al Faro, que también recomendamos hacer, valdrá la pena. La ruta acaba en el aparcamiento del Faro. Cerca de aquí podemos encontrar parada de taxis o transporte público para volver a nuestro punto de partida.

A WAY OF SEA AND MOUNTAIN BY THE ROUTE OF SERRA GELADA

During the holidays we have the privilege of enjoying all the free time we want to have. Some people prefer not to leave the resort and take advantage of the holidays to rest and relax, and there are those who, however, prefer to take the time to venture out and see new things. As we know that there are tastes for all colors, Benidorm offers a variety of activities for all its visitors.

For the more adventurous and active we propose the route through Sierra Helada, also known as Serra Gelada. This mountain range is a coastal mountainous alignment that separates Benidorm from Altea. It is formed by limestones and marls, and its southeast flank faces the sea forming impressive cliffs that give it a unique profile. The whole of the mountain range is protected as a natural park and houses an interesting fossil dune and two flora microreserves.

The hiking route has a medium difficulty, so do not worry, there are middle-aged people who also make the journey from beginning to end, it is not necessary to be an athlete to be able to meet the route. The average time to cross it is 5 hours, so you have to go prepared with water and some food, because if you go out in the morning you will surely have lunch time halfway. The distance to travel is 11’9 km from one end to the other, with a difference of 825 m.

Already prepared with good sports, backpack with water and food, and lots of energy behind us, we started! We start the route with the climb to the Cruz de Benidorm on Berlin street. We are leaving behind the skyscrapers and the metropolitan architecture of the city. It is an asphalt road that has no loss.

We arrive at the Cross and here the trail begins, which is marked with signs of painting. We will walk through the mountain range, near the edge of the cliff and with lands of ups and downs, and great scenic beauty. It is a hiking trail that we can also do with children, always with care, and even with pets. If we go with dogs, they will enjoy as much or more than we do of traveling all this terrain. What is not recommended is to do it during the days of intense heat, because along the way the shaded areas are scarce to be open road. Touring the Serra Gelada is a perfect plan for a spring, autumn and even winter morning. The path from the cross ends in a paved path before reaching the antennas, located in the high part of the mountain, at 435 meters above sea level. From here we can see the Puig Campana, the Sierra de Bernia and the Peñón de Ifach.

Once in the antennas, we guided our route to Faro del Albir. We can choose two roads, follow the paved road that goes down to the car park of the Lighthouse, or continue with the natural path of the mountain and continue contemplating the landscapes of the Costablanca. This second one is to the left of the esplanade of the antennas. It is a more rocky and decomposed terrain, where we will see the typical flora of the area. Continuing through the mountain range we will reach the lighthouse.

In the Faro del Albir we can take a short break to contemplate the maritime landscape we have on one side, and the mountainous landscape we have on the other side. Here we can take a break, the road is downhill and our legs will thank us. Here the path to follow is asphalted and easy to navigate, with a low level of difficulty. There are those who do not have the time or physical condition to travel the entire hiking route from Benidorm to the Serra Gelada and are encouraged to do only the route from Albir to Faro, which we also recommend doing, it will be worth it. The route ends at the Faro car park. Near here we can find taxi rank or public transport to get back to our starting point.

Hallazgo de La Virgen - Fiestas Patronales Benidorm

BENIDORM SE ENGALANA CON SUS FIESTAS PATRONALES

Como cada Noviembre de cada año, Benidorm se viste de fiesta, pues llega el momento del año más esperado para los festers: Las Fiestas Patronales.

Estas tienen su origen desde 1740, cuando los vecinos de Benidorm vieron aproximarse a la costa un barco sin tripulantes. La llegada de este londro causó tanta expectación como miedo, pues se infundió pavor de pensar que la causa de la desaparición de sus tripulantes fue por la peste. Las autoridades decidieron quemar el barco para evitar epidemias. Una vez que las llamas se habían extinguido, los niños del pueblo comenzaron a rebuscar clavos, hierros y más restos, con la sorpresa de que se encontraron la imagen de una Virgen con el Niño Jesús en brazos que había llegado en la popa del barco. La Virgen estaba intacta, ni le habían rozado las llamas, hecho que parece un auténtico milagro, ya que el resto del barco había quedado completamente calcinado. Desde entonces, cada segundo fin de semana de Noviembre se celebra el hallazgo  de la Virgen del Sufragio.

Este Viernes día 10 comienzan 5 días de intensa actividad festiva, donde podremos disfrutar de la feria, de las peñas, de los pasacalles, de las bandas de música, de las vaquillas y de las mascletás.

Durante estos días podéis encontrar en Benidorm música y actividades festivas. El Viernes arrancan las Fiestas Patronales con la inauguración del alumbrado artístico y del recinto ferial. Un símbolo muy importante de las fiestas son Las Peñas, grupos de amigos que se aúnan en locales para celebrar la festividad patronal. Estas tienen su desfile de entrada el Viernes por la noche.

El Sábado se comienza con una misa en la Iglesia de San Jaime en honor a la Virgen del Sufragio, donde reside desde hace décadas. En el casco antiguo, en la Plaza Castelar, se da comienzo oficialmente a las Fiestas Mayores Patronales con un bombardeo aéreo. Uno de los eventos más importantes es la escenificación del hallazgo de La Virgen, que se celebrará el Sábado a las 17:00 en la Playa de Poniente. A continuación tendrá lugar la ofrenda de Flores, seguida del pregón de fiestas y del castillo de fuegos artificiales.

Para cerrar el fin de semana, el Domingo a las 8:00 se ofrecerá una gran chocolatada para comenzar la jornada con energía. Otro de los actos favoritos de los festers de Benidorm es el suelte de vaquillas, en la Plaza de Toros. La jornada del día va cargada de mascletás, conciertos y procesiones. Para acabar, espectacular Correfoc desde la Plaza de SSMM hasta el Parque de Elche.

El Lunes 13 es el día dedicado a Sant Jaume Apóstol y arranca el día con otra chocolatada. La jornada va prevista de misas y procesiones en su honor, pasacalles, mascletás y la fiesta musical de los 40 principales por la noche en la Calle Gambo.

El penúltimo día de las Fiestas Patronales de Benidorm, el Martes, volvemos a tener chocolatada por cortesía de Chocolates Marcos Tonda. El acto más importante de este día es el Desfile del Humor, a las 19:00, donde los miembros de las Peñas se disfrazan y pasean por las calles para hacer pasar a mayores y a niños un rato inolvidable. A las 12 de la noche no os perdáis la gran mascletá nocturna en la plaza de la Hispanidad.

Terminamos con el último día festivo, el Miércoles se celebra la ‘festa de las festes’, con pasacalles de diferentes entidades festeras de Benidorm.  Para los más pequeños habrá una mascletá infantil  y traca de caramelos. Por último, el desfile de carrozas que tendrá lugar a las 18:00 desde el Parque de Elche. Al finalizar el desfile, el castillo de fuegos artificiales en la Playa de Poniente nos dejará boquiabiertos con un espectáculo de luces y colores en el cielo. Este es el punto de despedida de las Fiestas Patronales de Benidorm, hasta el próximo año.

Cada vez Benidorm recibe más visitantes extranjeros para vivir y sentir las fiestas memorativas a la Virgen del Sufragio. Son 5 días llenos de programación y actos, concretamente en el centro de la ciudad, en los que el turismo también se hace participante de los pasacalles, las misas, las mascletás, y todos los actos que se celebran.

BENIDORM CELEBRATES THE FEAST OF THE CITY

As every November of each year, Benidorm dresses up as a party, as the most anticipated time of year for the festers arrives: The Patron Saint Festivity.
These have their origin since 1740, when the residents of Benidorm saw an unmanned ship approaching the coast. The arrival of this boat caused as much expectation as fear, because it infused fear to think that the cause of the disappearance of its crew was by the plague. The authorities decided to burn the boat to prevent epidemics. During these days you can find music and festive activities in Benidorm. On Friday, the Patron Saint celebrations begin with the inauguration of the artistic lighting and the fairgrounds. A very important symbol of the festivities are Las Peñas, groups of friends that come together in venues to celebrate the patronal festivity. They have their entrance parade on Friday night.

The Saturday begins with a Mass in the Church of San Jaime in honor of the Virgin of Suffrage, where she has lived for decades. In the old town, in the Plaza Castelar, the official Patron Saint Festival is officially started with an aerial bombardment. One of the most important events is the staging of the find of the Virgin, which will be held on Saturday at 5:00 pm at Poniente Beach. Comenzamos la diversión acuática en la zona de Pirates Adventure, de más de 3.000 m2 con más de 6 toboganes, Waterplay, Splash Infantil y un impresionante barco pirata llamado La perla negra.

Es el barco más veloz de todos los mares, con más de 12 m de eslora, y con un sinfín de actividades. Aquí podréis subir en cualquiera de los toboganes: hay dos de agua con forma de ola y uno curvo por popa terminado en la boca de un tiburón. No hay nada más emocionante que los 4 cañones por banda de agua a presión, y los 20 chorros de presión con diferentes boquillas para disparar a los piratas. También podréis jugar en los dos farolillos de posición en popa que acumulan agua y se vuelcan de golpe, y disfrutar de las dos plataformas de hidromasajes de aire bajo el barco.

Alrededor de las piscinas podéis disfrutar del sol y de las vistas en las hamacas con sombrillas, junto a un refresco o cocktail de Cayo Coco Bar, Tropical Splash Snack Bar o en el Bar Barbados, los bares más cercanos a Pirates Adventure y del Lago-piscina.

Para los momentos de relax disponemos de zona wellness en el spa con los último tratamientos de belleza y corporales, además de un gimnasio para quien quiera ejercitarse durante sus vacaciones. En la zona de spa podéis disfrutar del jacuzzi, baño turco, sauna, fuente de hielo, camas térmicas de relax, ducha escocesa, ducha de esencias, ducha nebulizada fría y ducha de cromoterapia; porque durante las vacaciones hay que divertirse, pero también hay momento de relajarse y desconectar.

A la hora de comer podéis elegir entre el restaurante Caribe, que es el principal, actualmente remodelado y decorado con lucernarios y jardines interiores; el restaurante Pirates Tavern, con una amplia selección de cocina americana. En cuanto a las cafeterías podéis escoger entre Lobby Bar Nassau situado en el hall de entrada, Aruba Chill Out (adults only) con mesas, sillas, hamacas y camas balinesas en la zona alta de puentes y pasarelas y el Bar Los Olivos que es nuestra cafetería principal; además de los ya mencionados situados alrededor de las piscinas.

Actividades en Terra Natura para Halloween

¡Pasa un Halloween terroríficamente divertido en Terra Natura!

Terra Natura trae planes para Halloween. Del día 12 de Octubre al 1 de Noviembre tienes actividades de entretenimiento relacionadas con la temática de terror. ¿Quieres adentrarte en una selva vudú? En el aviario del parque te estarán esperando las momias mayas y muchas más cosas terroríficas.

A las 10:30 estate preparado en Pangea para hacerte una fotografía de Halloween…de miedo! A las 12 en la zona de Europa podrás maquillarte con la caracterización de personajes terroríficos. Para continuar, a las 12 pasa por Asia para asistir a la escuela de Hadas de la noche, en la que te enseñarán a actuar como estos fantásticos personajes. Si ya estás en la zona de Asia, a las 12:30 podrás fotografiarte con un ave de presa o un reptil, ¡cuidado que no te piquen!

Actividades con aves rapaces en Terra Natura para Halloween

Pero esto no es todo, también podrás dar un paseo en pony o asistir al Discovery elephants, en el que te enseñarán a cuidar a estos grandes animales.

Para dar el toque más mágico, el día 28 de Octubre tendrá lugar el congreso de Magia, con un taller en el que aprenderéis muchos trucos, gymkhana con pruebas para encontrar el elemento mágico y resolver el enigma terrorífico, y un show muy especial del que podréis formar parte.
